More Issues Than Tissues

Last night I tried to get quite a bit accomplished, but my internet connection was being very problematic.

I was working on blogs for my "Between A Rock And A Hard Place" blog, but I was unable to get anything to post properly. I did however back up all my work on microsoft word 2007. Now I just have to go in, edit the material for about 6 or 7 posts and enter all the links so that people can purchase the music that I'm talking about in the blog posts.

 I thought that I would've given myself a tattoo by now, but I haven't done it yet.

The tattoo will be a combination of the two images above (all rights reserved by DC Comics.)

I ordered some smaller shading needles and I hope that I can find someone to teach me shading this week.

If not, I'm going to do the outline and have a professional tattooist do the shading/coloring.

And on an entirely personal level, someone very special to me has come back into my life via facebook. A lot of things have changed since we last spoke and I don't know what the future has in store. One thing that hasn't changed is that I still have very strong feelings for this person and I probably always will.

Tonorrow is another busy day and I'm looking forward to it.

Advertising Headaches.

In trying to keep my businesses seperate in my own mind, I use several email accounts. Most of these accounts are thru Google's gmail. I tried to learn as much as I could before signing up for all these things, but not knowing what I would need to know beforehand, I missed a couple of pieces of information that could've made my life a lot easier.

The area of problem involves Google's adSense. I have ab adSense account associated with gmail address (A) but not with account (B). I host blogs with both of these accounts and wanted to place adSense ads on the newer blogs. I thought I would need to sign up for another adSense account using (B), but it turns out that I could just add them to the adSense account associated with (A). Then it just gets too confusing to explain. I am having trouble linking the accounts because (B) is associated with a pending account and I can't find a way to directly contact the wonderful folks at Google to try to deactivate the pending account.

And then an adSense ad showed up on one of my sites from account (B). Not all of the accounts I put in, only one ad always on the same page. Maybe the rest will show up later. I'm taking a break from it now and I'll see what it looks like later.

I used up a ton of advertising credits on traffic exchange and safelist sites, so I'm surfing ads today to earn more credits. It's pretty boring but at least I can sit here and listen to music while I'm doing it.

Another Amazon Affiliate Store

I've been pretty busy today working on a new online store.

Not that I'm a master at affiliate marketing, but I have studied a lot of marketing programs and I decided to use what I learned. Studies show that if you have too many products on your site people become overwhelmed. By developing smaller sites catering to a certain audience, I can capture that market. And I can build 100 online stores, each with its own niche.

We are still keeping our main site, where over 6 million items are available for purchase, but I have started a new site today. Doing a online store dedicated to music, specifically hard rock and heavy metal (and classic rock) is a no-brainer given my knowledge and love of music.

I started with a long blog about a band I've been listening to since the 70s, KISS. I have seen KISS almost 20 times in concert over the years, and I've even taken my 3 children to see KISS.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be developing more online niche stores, so if you have a niche market you would like me to address feel free to drop me a line. I'm certain I will be doing an Electronics online store and possibly a site selling musical instruments (if I can sell quality name brand instruments.) I may even talk my son into doing a store selling roofing and construction material and tools.

What I Want For Christmas

If you're wondering what to get me for Christmas, you can pick up tickets to Steel Panther playing at Bogart's in Cincinnati, OH on December 22nd. I saw them last year at a sold out show at Bogart's and they were amazing .

Steel Panther is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, CA mostly known for their profane and humorous lyrics as well as their exaggerated on-stage personae that reimagine and parody the heavy metal music and wild partying lifestyle of the 1980s.

The quartet began to gain popularity in the Sunset Strip during the early 2000s under the name Metal Shop (soon changed into Metal Skool, then into Steel Panther). Their lineup consists of vocalist Ralph Saenz (born May 17, 1965) aka Michael Starr. Saenz was the lead singer for the David Lee Roth-era Van Halen tribute band Atomic Punks, where he had the nickname "David Lee Ralph", and he was briefly the lead singer for L.A. Guns. He also has sung for the bands 7% Solution, First Cause, Longgone, and Nightfall; and he appeared briefly in the 2001 film, Rock Star.

 Stix Zadinia is the stage name of Darren Leader, an American-born drummer. Stix was a member of a band called The Thornbirds with Russ Parrish (born November 24, 1970 in Redwood City, CA), the guitarist for Steel Panther,

 In the early 1990s Russ (better known as Satchel) was an instructor at The Guitar Institute of Technology (G.I.T.) at Hollywood's Musician's Institute. Russ played guitar for Jeff Pilson's post- Dokken band War & Peace, before leaving to join Rob Halford's band Fight.

 The final piece of the band is bassist Travis Haley aka Lexxi Foxxx.

 The band did weekly shows on Monday nights at the Viper Room, playing covers of 1980s hair metal hits while parodying the bands that made the songs famous. Despite the name changes, Ralph and Russ moonlighting in their Van Halen tribute band, they finally managed to gain some success.

In 2003 Steel Panther published Hole Patrol, their self-produced debut. The band appeared in a Discover Card advertisement as Danger Kitty and in the sitcom Drew Carey Show as themselves.

In April 2008 the band decided to change their name from Metal Skool to Steel Panther. In an interview with Michael Starr, he states that the band's name wasn't inspired by Steel Dragon, the band with Zakk Wylde and Mark Wahlberg in the movie Rock Star.

 Steel Panther released their major record label debut (Universal/Republic Recoerds), Feel the Steel in 2009. The record features hit singles, Community Property and Death To All But Metal as well as notable guest vocal performances from Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Justin Hawkins of the Darkness, and and M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold.

Steel Panther continued their revival of the 80's heavy metal genre with their sophomore effort titled Balls Out  released in 2011.

 Steel Panther released their first Live DVD British Invasion in 2012. The DVD was filmed at Brixton Academy in London and features a two-hour concert/documentary based on the band's sold-out British tour.

The band will be touring the United States at the end of the year heading into next year for the release of their new album, tentatively titled All You Can Eat.

A Great Band I Found

Everybody makes fun of me when I tell them the name of my favorite band!

The band's name is Big Cock and they are from Scarsdale, Arizona. 

 Their singer is Robert Mason (born on August 6, 1964 in New York City), a vocalist associated with a variety of hard rock and heavy metal acts such as Lynch Mob, Cry of Love, the James Byrd Group, and Silent Witness. In 2008, after a chance meeting at the Rocklahoma Festival, Mason was asked to join long-time friends Warrant as a replacement for vocalist Jani Lane.

The guitarist is a rock veteran named David Philip "Dave" Henzerling (born 3 May 1961), a.k.a. David Michael-Philips. He has been a member of numerous hard rock bands including Scholboys (later known as Icon), Keel, King Kobra (which has recently reformed), Lizzy Borden, Geronimo!, Liquid Black, Tunnel, Steelshine, and Kelly Keeling & Friends. David was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to Phoenix, Arizona with his family in December 1969.

In early 2005, David reunited with his Schoolboys band-mate John Covington to form the band Big Cock with vocalist Robert Mason  and bassist Colby. The band's name was meant as a satirical jab at the music business since they figured no label would sign and no radio station would play anything by a band called "Big Cock". The project was released independently and without fanfare solely for the purpose of creating music and having some fun.

 They released three albums Year of the Cock (2005), Big Cock (2006) and Motherload (2008) as well as a digital-only greatest hits compilation Got Big Cock? (2009). The albums received positive critical acclaim for both their musicianship and unapologetic swagger. I am a huge fan of the guitar playing, amazing vocals, hard driving drums and bass, and the tongue-in-cheek songwritting. I'm even learning to play drums to some of their songs. You can tell that the band is playing the kind of music that they are passionate about. most of the band are involved in other groups at the moment, but it's my opinion that this is truely their best work

Look Boss, De Plane!

Does anybody even get that reference?

I can't help myself sometimes with my movie and pop culture references.

I have often thought about trying my hand at stand up comedy, but I wonder how many people would get my jokes. Anyway, that's not what this blog is about. This blog is about tattoos.

(By the way, my headline refers to the tv show  Fantasy Island and the character Tattoo, played by Herve' Villechaize. Tattoo would run up the main bell tower to ring the bell and shout "The Plane! The Plane!" to announce the arrival of a new set of guests at the beginning of each episode. This line, shown at the beginning of the show's credits, became an unlikely catchphrase because of Villechaize's spirited delivery and French accent (he actually pronounced it, "De plane! De plane!").

Anyway, I'm in the process of learning how to tattoo. The most important thing to remember when tattooing, in addition to making sure you don't scar someone for life, is using sterile equipment. equipment for sterilizing some of your equipment will cost you at least $1600. (If you find something cheaper than that, you've done better than me.) But there is a cheap an easy alternative. I first seal the tattoo gun inside a ziplock sandwich bag with a hole cut in the corner for the needle and tube to stick thru. You then purchase disposable needles with pre-sterilized plastic tubes. These are the longer tubes that attach directly to the tattoo machine. Purchased together, they cost just a little over $1 a piece when you buy them in quantity. And I'm not even talking large quantities. I bought 2 different size needles with the matching tubes at a cost of $40 and some change for 40 needles.

 So far I can do outlines but I'm trying to get someone to teach me how to use shading needles. A respected local tattoo artist recently taught me procedures for safe tattooing and how to make greywash (shades of black). I have a friend that is going to let me work on his tattoo as soon as I can learn shading.

One of My Favorite Shows

If you know anything about me at all, you know that one of my favorite shows is a Canadian mockumentary tv series called Trailer Park Boys.

The television series is a continuation of  Mike Clattenburg's 1999 film of the same name that premiered on the Showcase television network in 2001.

Trailer Park Boys focuses on the misadventures of a group of Trailer park residents, some of whom are ex-convicts, living in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. 

The series originally ran for eight seasons.

 "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys," premiered in 2008, ending the initial run of the series. A second film—Countdown To Liquor Day—was released in 2009. A third film has completed production and is awaiting a release date. With the films, stage shows and continued international interest in the original series, an eighth season started production early July 2013.

Episodes revolve around the Ricky, Julian, Bubbles and their misfit accomplices Trevor and Cory trying to make money through petty crime while staying out of jail. Their schemes are complicated by vindictive trailer park supervisor Jim Lahey and his shirtless assistant Randy as Ricky and Julian's incompetence competes with Lahey's own drunken ineptitude. Throughout the season Ricky and Julian end up in and out of jail with most, but not all, of their plans falling apart.

Later seasons changed this formula with the final episode of the season showing that their schemes had been successful. The first episode of the following season would then show them sheepishly explaining how everything went wrong and set them back to square one.

Each of the characters has their own particular trademark mannerism or trait. Julian is the leader and comes up with plans, and is never seen without a drink in his hand. Ricky thinks he is dumb and looks to Julian for advice. He often mispronounces words and is known to mess things up. Bubbles wears Coke-bottle glasses, drives a go kart, lives in a shed with a bunch of cats and gets upset and starts crying when the boys fight. Trailer Park Supervisor Jim Lahey is almost always drunk and his assistant Randy is almost always shirtless. Other minor characters include Cory and Trevor (who help out Ricky and Julian and look up to them), Mr. Lahey and Randy, Lucy and Sarah (Lucy is the mother of Ricky's daughter and Sarah is her roommate) and J-Roc and T (J-Roc thinks he's black despite his skin color and the two are amateur rappers.)

The series is shot in a mockumentary style (including the use of long takes), and often the camera vrew become engrossed in the plot. On several occasions, the camera crew are spoken to by the characters, and often end up becoming directly involved in the action. In one episode, a crew member is shot, and they are also enlisted several times to help the characters. All of this is intended to produce the feeling that these are real events that are happening to real people, when in reality, the show is loosely scripted, with much of the dialog ad-libbed from very basic plot points.

Furthering the myth that Trailer Park Boys is nonfiction, many of the actors (particularly Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay, Mike Smith and John Dunsworth) often make public appearances without breaking character

The cinematographic style of the show is split between rough handheld camera work and clearly planned camera work; the latter sometimes involves crane shots and quite clearly pre-arranged fixed-camera shots.

Trailer Park Boys is also an inspirational source for an internet tv series that I am developing called White Trash Heroes.

Times Making Changes...

We're making some changes

The first thing you might notice, if you've been here before or if you read the previous post, is that I've removed our dating site from this blog.

We have another blog that is about dating and I will be removing the online store from that blog, as well.

I was advised that this would be a wise move as there could potentially be an issue with that.

Too many unrelated links could get our account suspended or something along those lines.

Basically it was some advise that I thought made sense.

Another change is that we have started using an additional URL for our online store.

We will also be developing some specialty online stores.

So that people don't have to look thru the over 6 million items we carry on our ALL ABOUT YOU Online Store.

Like for instance a store that only sells Holiday Items.

And there may be more changes coming after our business meeting tomorrow.

Meeting with a friend on Saturday to work on the fine art of tattooing and possibly shooting scenes for our upcoming internet/tv series.

We shot 3 short scenes today with a camera phone. Purposely going for a GONZO filming style on some scenes. Still trying to find some writers.

Talked to a professional camera man today, but I'm not sure if he's in or not.

Did my daily couple of hours of free advertising for the Amazon store and the dating site.

Sleep Deprived Weekend

This was a bit of a rough weekend.

Friday night I met with a tattoo shop owner for advice on tattooing. I meet again with him tomorrow to discuss an apprenticeship and possibly running a second shop for him in another location.

Then I went out to a bar (something I rarely do) to check out a local musician who is playing in a 2 man band setup (with his son) that utlilizes some pre-recorded backing tracks.

This is something I am very interested in doing myself, so I wanted to check it out.

I then stayed up til the sun came out working on stuff for my businesses, downloading music, and watching episodes of Smallville.

I got up early Saturday morning (2 hours after falling asleep) and got ready to audition for a local band.

I thought the audition went well and I had a real good time, but I was informed that they are going to audition more people in the next few weeks. Oh, well.

Then within a half hour of arriving home, I was informed that members of my family were getting together to do something special for my recently departed mother-in-law.

In the video above you can see what we did. I believe these are called chinese lanterns. We had over 30 of these that we lit and released. Contrary to what you may hear in the video, no nearby houses caught fire.

Upon arriving home Saturday night, I spent several hours attempting to install a driver to my business partner's laptop. I'm not terribly knowledgeable about this kind of thing, but I'm a quick learner (usually) and I figured I could do it. WRONG. There is something wrong with the operating system and we need to re-install Windows XP in the laptop. Awake until 4:30 in the morning working on this, and then got up at 8am to work on it for another half hour before getting ready for my weekly business meeting.

Sunday was spent having our weekly business meeting, which was cut a little short due to my lack of sleep the previous 2 days. And a lovely steak dinner at my business partners home before I headed home to try to get some rest.

Today I am checking into my business options. There may be a cheaper way to do what we are doing. I just need to compare the difference of a one time fee vs having to pay for hosting and a domain name every year.

I wish I had a mentor for this kind of stuff, instead of wasting some much time researching stuff and trial and error marketing. 

Well, time to put my nose back to the grindstone.

King Qwick

Just throwing a short blog to let you know what I'm up to.

I had a very nice meeting with a couple of friends last night to brainstorm about our upcoming Internet TV series, "White Trash Heroes".Think of Cheech & Chong meets Trailer Park Boys meets That 70s Show and you have the basic concept for our show.

I also posted to some friends on facebook for help with the project and I got a couple of good responses.

If you're interested, we do have a facebook page for the show. There isn't really much there yet, but we hope to at least get pictures of some of the cast on there in the next few days.

The plan is to shoot a few scenes to post on youtube before Xmas and to have 7 full-length episodes 22 minutes long sometime next year. We have started writting 3 of the episodes. we are still figuring out the characters at this point, so I expect alot of changes between now and when filming begins.

I can't wait to shoot our Xmas episode. We will have a clip from that available on youtube before Xmas.

Chase Away The Monday Blahs...

A New Week Brings New Challenges

Well, a new week has started and I have lots of work to do.

We are transferring everything to our business accounts for one thing.

Instead of using personal bank accounts, we now have one specifically for the business.

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my tattoo supplies.

I order 40 tattoo needles and the sterile tubes for the needles so that I can start tattooing.

They could arrive as early as Thursday.

I am getting ready to make my first advertising video.

I am using Audacity to record audio and then syncing it to pictures in Windows Movie Maker.

I've done this before to make my rather simplistic music videos.

Like this one.

And developing a TV/internet series comedy to be released next year.

It's called White Trash Heroes and if you're a fan of Trailer Park Boys, we think you'll like this.

And learning how to create a Website.

We are going to have a business website that links to all of our various blogs and the dating website and the online store.

I thought about doing several website with shorter URLs to redirect to our sites, but I think one landing page will actually work out for us.

And all the things I've been working on all along, advertising and running websites and watching training videos and social networking and so much more

Welcome to the New Blog Site.

As you may have noticed, or how else would you have gotten here,

 we are now hosting this blog on a new host.

Blogger is a wonderful platform, and we already have a Dating Blog on here,

so we figured we might as well use it for this as well.

I have taken all the previous posts and moved them here,

which explains why so many blogs were posted today.

 

I've been trying to get some work done on our Internet businesses

as well as trying to make some money in the physical world.

To that end, I've been working odd jobs and training how to do tattoos.

I got a new tattoo on my leg that I helped put there. It's just an outline so far,

but I will be doing all of the shading as soon as possible.

 

I have really been enjoying having the internet.

I don't know how I made it this long without it.

 

We're making some changes in our business, but I can't really talk about everything yet.

We have opened a dedicated business bank account and are working towards changing everything over to that soon.

 

Some personal good news, I did manage to make enough money to pay my pawn tickets,

so now I don't have to worry about losing my pawned items until the end of next month.

Now I get to work on coming up with some money towards my storage.

 

Well, tune in again tomorrow when I have some thing much more entertaining.

A Few Days Away...

Well, I haven’t posted in a few days, so lets get up to speed. I have the internet at home now. I probably should have blogged Thursday when I got the internet, but honestly I spent a little time catching up on the TV I’ve been missing. Watched some of the recent TNA wrestling I’ve missed, watched the first episode of Marvel’s Agents of Shield, and watched the first 2 episodes of Sleepy Hollow. I learned a new song on guitar thanks to youtube. And I did a little work.
I have over 4000 emails to go thru. I got a little behind because I was off for a few days before I got the internet hooked up. I’m spending today catching up on that and tomorrow will be spent going thru our advertising sites and rating them and making sure that I’ve dotted the t’s and crossed the i’s everywhere. And advertising our sites like crazy. Going to do ads for our Dating Site, ads for our online store, and ads for Your Eight Steps, Pure Leverage, & Empower Network.
And while I’m doing all this I’m also going to learn how to Tattoo. I picked up everything I need to get started doing tattoos for an amazing deal. I’ve been wanting to do tattoos for quit some time, and I’ll make back the money I borrowed to do this when I do my first tattoo.
I gotta get back to work but I’ll see ya soon.

Hello again. Nice to see you.
I got a little feedback on my blog from yesterday that I seemed to point out the negatives about myself, and I didn’t really talk about all the good things going for me. So this is kind of an update…
One thing about me is- I’m no dummy. I wasn’t actually a straight A student because school was very boring to me and I learn much better at my own pace. But I have always scored highly on tests and I love to learn new things.
I am a musician and I have played or sang in several local bands. I am currently working on being better able to play guitar and sing at the same time so that I can market myself as a solo musician. Dealing with other musicians in a band can be quite a headache unless everyone is on the same page. You would be suprised how seldom that happens.
I do have a business partner who is funding this endeavor. We’ve been working together on business ventures on and off for over 10 years. One of my favorite business trips was back in 2005 when we spent a month in Las Vegas . I spent a few nights at the casinos mostly checking out all the bands playing in the bars. I saw Whitesnake and local (at that time) band Otherwise at the House Of Blues in Mandalay Bay, as well as the band that later became Steel Panther. I took some college courses a few years ago for Computer Animation & Graphic Design and at that time I didn’t even know how to turn a computer on. I am currently running several websites, as well as having accounts on youtube, facebook, twitter, etc…
Well, that’s it for today. I have a Web Seminar to attend in less than 30 minutes and a couple of things to do before then. I may not post for the next 2 days, but my home internet gets hooked up Thursday and I’ll be online most of the time after that.

Starting From The Bottom...

Hello, and welcome to my first blog here. If you want to know a little about me, then keep reading. My name is Philip C Knecht. I am a starving artist. I’m not literally starving, but I am completely broke; heck I’m in debt. I am weeks away from losing everything I own. So I am doing everything I can right now to make money with the resources I have. I have several internet businesses as well as doing affiliate marketing and other internet revenue streams. Aside from some social media, all of this is largely new territory for me. Every day I am learning scores of new information, and at times it can seem truly overwhelming.

Luckily, I love to learn new things and I’m diving into this head first.
In the days and weeks to come, I hope to be able to share valueable information with you as well as make a mountain of cash. At the moment, I am only about 2 weeks into my work and hoping to see the first fruits of my labor very soon. And I can’t wait to share that joyous occassion with you.
I am currently awaiting an internet connection at my home, at which time I will be blogging daily. But until then, expect 2 or 3 blogs a week. I should be on here full time within the next 2 weeks.
